Welcome back to Silver Springs! I thought I would give you a little sneak preview of Raven - Charlie O’Malley’s story. That’s right! Charlie finally gets her own story. Of course, the rest of her friends will make appearances, but this time, it’s Charlie who finds love…hopefully! Let’s see what she’s up to!
Rummaging through Gray’s closet, I thought about how happy Gray was with her mates Cillian, Gunnar, and my stupid brother, and how ridiculously happy Dahlia was with Daire, Aidan and Ian. Hell, half this town had found their mates. As much as I wasn’t ready for a relationship, I wouldn’t mind some mind blowing sex here and there.
Nail polish! That was the last item on Gray’s list.
With the rest of Gray’s hot date wardrobe in hand, I headed down the hallway to the bathroom across from Milo’s bachelor pad.
Oddly, the bathroom door was closed. I leaned over to turn the knob, but the door suddenly opened on its own.
Jumping back, I shrieked as if I had seen the ghost of my Great Aunt Martha, who often liked to pop up at inopportune times to tell me about the latest trend in sexual positions.
Instead of my aunt, I saw Milo staring at me with a combination of shock and amusement.
My jumbled mind processed a few interesting things at the same time. Milo was dripping wet and wearing only a towel around his waist. His muscles were much larger than the last time I had seen him naked, after he shifted into a wolf to fight his demented pack. In addition to that, I felt my fucking ankle twisting, causing me to fall because I had dropped Gray’s three-inch heels in my fright and stepped on them.
Tipping towards the ground, I let out a yelp. Stupidly, I clung to Gray’s dress in my hands instead of reaching out to brace myself.
“Charlie!” Milo rushed forward to grab me.
At the same time, my brain finally realized that I should be panicking more. I threw Gray’s dress and lipstick into the air as I finally tried to hold on to something to stop my fall.
Grabbing Milo’s firm shoulders, my panicked brain made me wrap my arms around his neck as if I were falling into a pit of vipers instead of the carpet.
“Gah!” Milo let out a garbled sound as I accidentally cut off his air supply.
Pulling me towards his chest to steady me, he must have gotten tangled in Gray’s dress because instead of staying up right, both of us tumbled to the ground.
My back hit the ground, but I barely registered the pain. I was too busy staring into Milo’s ridiculously gorgeous blue eyes. How have I never noticed the dark gray flecks nestled in the endless sea of blue before?
I snapped out of my new obsession of detailing the different shades of blue in his eyes to register his weight land on top of my entire body.
His breath blew against my ear as he grunted. “Sorry.” He rose to his elbows to look at me. “Are you okay?”
His deep voice sounded a little deeper and more sensual than usual, which made me giggle like a schoolgirl.
Swallowing back my sudden urge to nibble on his ear, I took a breath as I nodded. “I think so.”
Milo’s concerned eyes searched my face. “Hey.” His small smile spread into a full blown smile that
awoke a dark feeling buried deep inside of me.
Taking in a deep breath, I noticed that every nerve in my body was blissfully aware of his powerful chest, stomach, and thighs pressed against me.
“Hey.” My response mimicked his, though not intentionally. I was a little out of breath with him pinning me to the floor, though I had no interest in telling him to move.
Staring at his mouth just inches from mine, a bizarre image of him kissing me ran through my head like a slow motion football replay.
His warm breath tickled my cheek. I wanted to lean closer to sniff his skin and see if he smelled like soap, or cologne, but I stopped myself…barely. I didn’t want to be known as the weird woman who sniffed her friends.
